===== Issues with Amphibious Waves adjudication? ===== Because of the [notes-] in FAQ 46, Amphibious waves were not subject to S2A adjudication on their way to their objective (generally they are unlikely to exit a MEZ on their ingress). Even if they flew into a MEZ, they would not trigger adjudication upon landing; only on return (exiting the MEZ) were they generally subject to adjudication. In new (Mar 08) SAC overlays, changes to Amphibious waves were made to allow for more consistent S2A adjudication. These provide that: * The Amphibious waves request intermediate landing properly, invoking the S2A adjudicator if needed * (As is done currently), Intermediate Landing causes all interactions to stop until the next Takeoff * That’s Takeoff, not Request Takeoff * Both Amphibious waves & IntraAirlift deregister from the grid once they land to prevent erroneous A2A engagements while they are on the ground * Unsure about HCAS/HCASWC * They reregister on takeoff so they are once again subject to S2A adjudication on egress * Requesting landing on the ship (start location) after the mission will trigger a final S2A opportunity - Where does day or night matter? There are three known cases which distinguish between day and night: Direct Fire, S2A Adjudication and Collection Planning. Each of these cases use the sunrise/sunset lighting conditions for the current/target location.
