Your mom has prearranged her funeral with Marlatt Funeral Home (615 Main Street East, Hamilton, Ontario L8M 1J4) 1-905-528-6303. When I called I spoke with the administrator Jen and she told me that your mom has a direct cremation prepaid (with Bayview Crematory), I have confirmed this. Your mom also has a service at Delta United Church with a guestbook and cards, coroner fee and newspaper notice for one day all prepaid. Your mom has no handwritten instruction other than the prearrangement in their file. It does show your business card and permission for two other individuals to act on your behalf if needed at the time of your mom's passing.
For the Cemetery Information here it is; Your grandparents Bertha A. Rice and Thomas A. Rice have cemetery property in Woodland Cemetery (section 22 Lot 192. Your grandfather is in grave 1 the far left grave buried at the 6 foot level and your grandmother is beside him in grave 2 at the 6 foot level. There are additional spaces available with them HOWEVER there is no designation in their file for your mom to be buried there. Was she an only child? If so then all they would need is a written statement from you signed and sent to them authorizing that she is indeed and only child and you are requesting that she be laid to rest there. If she was not an only child then that creates a lot more work. You would need signed authorization from each sibling of your mom's giving authorization for her to be laid to rest with her parents. The best thing to do is to call the cemetery office directly at 1-905-546-4704 and ask to speak to Cathy. She can give you the specifics, as here in Canada, Funeral homes and cemeteries are separate entities. Should you need anything else or you feel I can help in any way please let me know.
