Meatloaf
- 1 lb Wagyu ground beef (any ground beef will work)
- 4 garlic cloves minced or 2 tablespoons of the garlic from the squeeze tubes
- 3/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Spice Islands Beau Monde seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Spice Islands sage (or any dry sage)
- 1 teaspoon Wright's Hickory Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sweet relish
- 1 egg beaten in a cup with a fork
- 1/4 cup of red or white wine (I use Sauvignon Blanc)
- add everything to a bowl and mix by hand
- let it sit for about 10 to 20 minutes to marinate and blend the flavors
- form patties up to an inch thick- it will be very wet try to pack them tight but they will still be very loose
- Set a grill at about 375 - 400 or cook in a medium hot pan
- Cook for about 5 minutes on each side (time will depend on thickness)
- Gently turn over to prevent them from breaking apart
- Add thinly sliced cheese after the flip if you want.
