  • no more stock history at yahoo
  • use marketwatch - https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/fund/VIG/download-data
  • to add a new stock, add it to
    • funds.csv
    • prices.xls which must exist. it does not get created by excel9.py
    • yahoo where the order is not important. excel9 figures it out
    • create new worksheet with proper name in the ARM model
    • update consolidatedDaily

  • Problems with Van4 locking up when pasting prices from check
  • pasting one by one found a circular reference to the summary at the right had columns.
  • The suggested “buy” of $12 is problematic and probably not needed at all.

  • got a copy of 64 bit excel from pirate bay and installed it.
  • consolidatedDaily does not come up becasue it uses indirect.ext
  • would be a lot of work to conver to excel 2010
  • put it on synshare/software.

  • Got 3 Buy signals on Vanguard Health VGHCX om 2/26/2021 and sold all 25k.
  • If I'd sold just the recommended 8k, I would be ahead $1600 on 9/13/2021.
  • Never sell all!

Selling

  • On TRP, select Exchange, then From fund.
  • On Vanguard, select Sell, then pick fund to sell.

To do

  • Get TRP SEP-IRA merged
  • Where did new horizons come from?

Vanguard

  • Fully invested except for $2k
  • Select the individual fund form the list to trade.
  • Consolidate the IRAs once all the money gets there.

Fidelity

  • Fine
  • Fees 
    For our mutual fund accounts, we put messaging regarding 
 our account service fee on our second quarter statements, and in July 
 we send an email or letter to clients that are at risk of the fee. 
 We pull the balance information on the last business day of August, 
 and this information informs who is charged the account service fee. 
 The fee itself is assessed in early September every year.

Spreadsheet

  1. To calculate amount to sell, use Exchange Amount. If current week price is ⇐ 95% of last week's price, use 2 * EA if account balance is >= $1500 + 2 * EA. Otherwise use EA after balance check.
  2. EA is .15 * (amount invested / number of funds with dollars invested).
  3. 2021/12/3 - new percentage calc in FSRFX checks that dollars invested is > zero.

Add New Funds

  1. Copy an existing sheet, preferably one with few positions.
  2. Update Yahoo with new symbols
  3. update python/funds.csv.The order is not important; excel8.py figures it out
  4. Rename the sheets and cell A1
  5. Clear any buying history

  1. In 25 September, use =IF(AM94>0, AM94/SUM(AJ$93:AJ94)-1,0)
  2. Use custom Percentage formatting of 0.00%;[Red]-0.00%
